Mr. Abdul Kayum is Deputy Director General (6G Technologies) at Telecom Engineering Centre, New Delhi, under Department of Telecommunication, Government of India.

He is an Indian Telecom Service officer. His current responsibilities include; 6G Technologies, Quantum Communication, Next Generation Passive Optical Network, Emergency and Mission Critical Communication and Green Telecommunication

He Chairs National Working Groups 12 (Performance, QoS and QoE) and is a member of various task forces on 6G and Quantum Communication Technologies.

He contributes to International Telecommunication Union –Telecom (ITU-T) Study Group -5 (Environment and Circular Economy), SG 12 (Performance, QoS and QoE) and SG-15 (Networks, Technologies and Infrastructures for Transport, Access and Home).

His noticeable achievement in the area of green telecommunication is the development of ‘Energy Consumption Rating and Green Passport’ TEC standard.
